¬Save
Thursday for a stroll around Whitehaven.
A bustling outdoor market, a mere stone's throw from the harbourside, the
Beacon and the Rum Story, when combined with a sunny day and a full tide.......
sheer magic. The Jefferson Family Wine Merchants closed and has been reborn
as the Rum Story, a history of the Slave Trade in general, and Whitehaven
in particular.
Look
at the fabulous exhibits in the original shopfront window Down the
alley, pop into the old style office, in the glassroofed courtyard sample
the delights of the cafe, and have a browse in the shop. If you enjoy all
that, then you can pay to enjoy the REAL experience of the tour.
The Tall Ships come into port in June.
Town Carnival in July. Don't miss Sekers
Fabric Mill weekly sales: wonderfully interesting fabrics at very reasonable
prices.
The High Fells are now mostly re-opened. Details
from Tourist Information.
